The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros is a short novella about a girl, named Esperanza. The reader explores the young life of Esperanza and the battles she faces with people in her childhood and her insecurities with her poverty, racism, and gender discrimination. The reader also sees how Esperanza gets influenced by many women in her life. I like this book because it can really influence a lot of people. |
